Shingai has deep experience at the intersection of technology, finance, and economic development. He has worked as a data scientist at notable companies such as Kaiser Permanente and Google, developing systems leveraging machine learning and AI to power data-driven decision making. His background also includes strategy and operations leadership within Google’s CapitalG growth fund.
From an economic development perspective, he currently serves as Planning Commission Chairman for the city of San Rafael, CA where he presides over project review for land use and zoning considerations. He is also deeply involved in Marin County’s MCCMC group of mayors and city council members in the development of a post-Covid long-term economic growth framework.
Shingai holds a dual B.S. in Decision Science and International Relations from Carnegie Mellon University.
